Seniors enrolled in Ms. Morgan’s General Cooperative Education Class at Livonia High recently completed their career projects and presented their research to their class. Students were to research careers in which they have a great interest, determine the type of education and training that will be needed to qualify for a career in the field and also to investigate the salary range and benefits included in their chosen career. After weeks of investigating and revisiting their career paths, the students concluded the unit with oral presentations. Students were encouraged to select attire that aligned with their careers. It was a very informative project that was truly an eye opening experience for some of the participants.
The Cooperative Education (Co-op) Program is a supervised educational program for students that integrates periods of academic study with periods of paid, professional work. The work assignments are closely related to the student's academic program and provide an opportunity for students to enhance their classroom learning by integrating academic theory and real-world work experiences. The co-op experience prepares students for professional work in business, industry, and government agencies upon graduation.
