Livonia Junior High is ecstatic to announce that two middle school students have recently been elected to a JAG State Office position. Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who are most at-risk. In more than three decades of operation, JAG has delivered consistent, compelling results helping nearly three-quarters of a million young people stay in school through graduation, pursue post-secondary education and secure quality, entry-level jobs leading to career advancement opportunities.
In the State of Louisiana, there are currently seventeen middle school programs and nineteen AIM High Programs. Eighth grader Amber Williams was elected JAG State Secretary and eighth grader Cyrah Parker was elected JAG State Representative. These two Wildcats hold two out of the six positions for JAG LA State Officers. The young ladies will journey to the Governor’s Mansion for a special banquet with the other JAG State Officers. These young ladies will work closely with all the schools in the state to prepare for this year’s JAG events.
The faculty and staff of Livonia High School commend these young ladies for their campaign work and wish them both the best of luck as they learn by leading during the 2016-2017 school year.
